Branch Box

東京都の檜原村で育ったヒノキの間伐材の”枝”を持ち手に使用した多用途なボックスです。
落ちている枝をみれば、つい拾って握りたくなってしまう。単純なアプローチですが、しっかりと詰まった年輪は見た目にも美しく、ほどよい太さは手にもよく馴染みます。持ち手に使用される枝は間伐材の中でも小さな部位であるがゆえに材料として扱うには大変な労力を要しますが、山と木に真摯に向き合う方々の根気強い姿勢と丁寧な仕事によって、れっきとした木材と成り得る事ができます。そうして生まれた枝は、まっすぐだったり、ひねっていたり、一本一本の個性が魅力として活きる暮らしの道具となりました。
