嘗てお米を収穫した際の藁は、わらじなどの日用品、米俵、衣服などを経て、むしろという敷物として擦切れるまで使いきり、細かくなったものを田んぼに蒔いていました。このように藁は、衣食住の中で循環してきた素材です。
ライフスタイルの変化により見かける事さえ少なくなりましたが、毎年収穫される藁の新たな可能性として家具をデザインしました。１本１本は繊細ながら力強い藁を木のフレームに収める事で、藁ならではの香りやあたたかみある風合いを残しながらも、無理なく暮らしと調和します。また、手で軽く押す事でうまれる豊かな表情は空間にやさしい変化をもたらします。Nouveau(ヌーヴォー)は、今なおごはんを食べる私たちの暮らしに、藁の新たな味わいを届けます。

Rice straw was once used for daily necessities such as straw sandals. It was also used for rugs, etc., and was used up until it was worn out. The finely chopped straw was used as fertilizer for the rice fields.
In this way, straw is a material that has been circulated in our daily lives.
Due to changes in lifestyle, we see fewer straws in our daily lives. However, straw is harvested every year.
I designed furniture as a new possibility of straw.
Each delicate and powerful straw is put in a wooden frame. They harmonize with life while retaining the scent of straw and warmth. In addition, the cross section changes by pressing lightly with your hand. The rich expression that is born in this way brings a gentle change to the space.
“Nouveau” brings a new taste of straw to our daily lives where we still eat rice.
